Wild turkeys in Gold Beach, Oregon

November 23, 2021 by Dawn Shears

We cried, “Fowl!” when we got up this morning and saw the neighborhood group of wild turkeys sunning themselves up on the rooftop next door.

There are seven turkey’s in this group now (down from 9) and one is a male who recently joined them. One turkey appears to have a leg injury and is limping deeply. We guess that the original group got attacked by something and they lost 3 females and one was injured and then the male joined them as a protector.

Or so we imagine.
