We did not get too far the first day, just into northern California a bit since there were so many errands we had to run in Brookings, Oregon first prior to hitting the road. We’d changed our plan from going over through the passes at Mt. Ashland and down the I-5 because snows just had suddenly started and there we didn’t want to take Helga through those passes.

Scotia is a bit into the redwoods and was a pretty area although the RV park host was kind of a cranky sort to deal with. As with most of the places we stayed at in the U.S. on the way down to the border it was just a one night deal.

Note: We stayed at Stafford RV park and it was $50 for one night.
